This unit explains the functionality for setting the Subject field of Task Records which log call results.

This only affects Task Records, not Call Records. If you have disabled the creation of Task Records, these settings are irrelevant with the exception of the subjects for SMS

Introduction

The Fastcall data model stores detailed information about the call in specialised fields on the Call object. If you are using Tasks for viewing information about calls, this information is not easily accessible because the Task object does not have these fields. In order to work around this, Fastcall can update the Subject of the Task with the key information.

To control the way the Subject is populated, go to Fastcall Settings > Admin settings > Logging > Subject

Call types

Fastcall will set a different Subject for each of the call types. The call types are:

  • Outbound calls
  • Inbound calls
  • ACD calls
  • Internal calls
  • Missed calls
  • SMS

Appending to the subject

As well as a custom Subject, you can instruct Fastcall to append information to the Task Subject text in a similar fashion to how a calculated field behaves. The options are:

  • Nothing
  • Call Time / Date
  • Call Result
  • Call Result + Call Time / Date
  • Contact Name @ Time / Date
