This unit provides step-by-step instructions on setting up and utilizing Fastcall’s Voicemail Drop feature.
Introduction
Please note that the Voicemail Drop feature is triggered by the User, it is not automatic!
Fastcall employs a “human-assisted” answering machine detection. During a call, the user listens for the answering machine or voicemail to pick up. At the sound of the beep, the user manually drops the pre-recorded message, at which point they are automatically disconnected from the call.
Enable Voicemail Drop
To enable this feature, navigate to Fastcall Settings > Admin Settings > Call Handling > Upgrade Features and select the ‘Enable Voicemail Drop’ option.

Once activated, the voicemail drop icon will appear at the bottom of the Widget on the ‘Actions’ footer during an outbound call. By clicking the icon, you can access a list of pre-recorded messages. You may also filter these messages by tags for easier selection.

NOTE: There are automated phone applications that use answering machine detection, and Twilio offers this using a command “if machine.” The problem with automated detection is that there is a slight delay when a call is answered. And automated detection is not very accurate. Fastcall’s manual approach offers more precision and control.
When a voicemail drop is initiated, Fastcall will record the title of the voicemail as your call result. After selecting a message, you will be disconnected from the call, and the message will be played automatically.
