New Release Announcement: Conversations Now Live for Everyone!
We’re thrilled to announce a major update for all Fastcall users: the Conversations feature will now be turned ON on the frontend by default across all accounts! Enabling this will change the recent interactions view on the softphone so that it shows Conversations instead of the old threads.
What is Conversations?
Originally introduced in Fastcall version 8.48 and expanded in later releases, Conversations brings a powerful way to view and manage related communications — including calls, SMS, IVR group calls, and transfers — all in one organized thread. This feature makes it easier than ever to follow your customer interactions with context and clarity.
This new parent object will sit on top of Calls and Messages, allowing us to capture the complexity of modern business communications where there are often multiple participants in a call or message thread. The Conversation object also allows conversations to be associated with topics, such as Salesforce Cases, Opportunities, or a custom object.

Key Benefits of Conversations:
- Unified Communication Threads: Calls, messages, and transfers are linked together in a single Conversation, providing a complete view of your interaction history with a customer or prospect.
- Participant Management: Each external participant is automatically identified either by their Salesforce Record ID or their E.164 formatted phone number, ensuring accurate tracking even across multiple channels.
- Seamless Association: Incoming calls and messages intelligently match to existing Conversations based on the Fastcall number, participant data, and Conversation status, helping maintain continuity.
- Improved Front-End Experience: Recent updates enhanced the user interface, making it easy to view and manage participants, review past interactions, and keep your communication history organized.
What’s Changing?
Starting with this release, the setting to show Conversations in the Fastcall frontend will be enabled for all users by default. We believe this will significantly improve usability and help your teams work more efficiently with better visibility into communication threads.

Prefer the old view?
No problem — for now, admins will still have the option to disable Conversations from the Fastcall settings if you prefer the old version. We encourage everyone to give the new experience a try!.
